A break from the traditional Tuvans, db built his singing style on the farm in Wisconsin. db is a self-taught throat singer, nature mimic, and multi-voiced performance artist who has recorded an album of compositions loosely based on the archetypal journey of childhood and adolescence. These are more accessible tunes than the previous releases “And Then There’s That” and “Live @ Mother Fool’s.” Simpler in structure, shorter in length and more to the point, db has even rolled up his sleeves and written lyrics for some of the songs, though he still keeps the emphasis on wordless imaginary flight with his vocal gymnastics. Playing bass, bansuri flute, and percussion he creates menageries of animal worlds with minimal looping effects and expressive feats of multi-tonal singing
